At Purdue University, entrepreneurs are encouraged with “Go Businessmakers!” and given space to grow in an “idea economy.”

Like Purdue, major research universities across the country are employing two complementary strategies in their efforts to transform their regions economically: 1) building business incubation programs and 2) transferring technology from the university research labs to the private sector.

The Office of Business Development, a division of Purdue Research Foundation, combines both of these strategic initiatives into one effort called the Businessmaker Process™, which matches emerging Purdue University-licensed technologies with investors, management teams and business plans to ensure success. Through this program, potential entrepreneurs and investors learn more about available Purdue technologies during Technology Roadshows presented around the state.

If you are a Purdue faculty-, student- or staff- inventor interested in finding out more about the Businessmaker Process™, contact Julie K. Goonewardene.

If you represent an existing or future company built around a technology that is not Purdue-related, contact the Purdue Gateways Program. This program can help you forge valuable relationships with Purdue.
