Yeasts for Improved Ethanol Yields

Ethanol produced from cellulosic biomass is the ideal liquid fuel to replace gasoline fuel additives. This invention is an improved recombinant of a yeast strain that is capable of efficiently fermenting both glucose and xylose sugars found in cellulosic biomass into ethanol. The conversion is especially efficient for the conversion of xylose sugars. This technology (OTC #95086) is available for licensing.
