Public TitleStable Cell Lines Producing Chimeric Filoviruses/Retroviruses for Gene Transfer
Division
Lead InventorSanders, David
Public DescriptionThere are many different methods (vectors) that are used to deliver therapeutic genes into the body including retrovirals. Retroviruses do not enter T-Cells and thus may be useful for the production of viruses that can lead to elimination of rapidly-dividing cells (such as cancer), while leaving the immune system unaffected. The invention should be useful in identifying viral receptors, as well as specifically quantifying the entry step of a viral infection.
