Public DescriptionCloned cell lines provide the specificity for drug discovery in livestock and circumvents the need for live animals studies. Purdue researchers have cloned the porcine beta-1 and beta-2 adrenergic receptor genes and used them to generate stable cell lines in Chinese hamster ovary cells expressing a specific receptor protein.
