Public TitleReconstruction of Shapes of Near Symmetric and Asymmetric Objects
Division
Lead InventorPizlo, Zygmunt
Public DescriptionReconstruction methods from two dimensional images to three dimensional images are central to many new applications of image processing, such as medical imaging, vision-assisted robotics and intelligence gathering. Current processes for image reconstruction must be improved for efficiency and accuracy. Purdue University inventors have developed a novel algorithm which takes a two dimensional image of an object and reconstructs the three dimensional image of the same object using symmetry, planarity and compactness as constraints. This technology produces accurate and reliable constructions.
