| Public Title | Multiplex Instrumentation System for High-Throughput Analysis | | Division | | | Lead Inventor | Ouyang, Zheng | | Public Description | Analysis using mass spectrometry is commonly done using a single channel- one sample introduction system. A multiplexed mass spectrometer is currently not available for high-throughput analysis although parallel ion sources connected to a single time-shared mass analyzer are known. Researchers at Purdue University have developed a technology that allows high-throughput analysis using a mass spectrometer with fully parallel mass spectrometer channels. The method involves performing analysis on multiple samples handled in a simultaneous fashion. The number of channels used can be chosen and the mass analyzer can be of any type or combination of types. The technology is low cost, and it results in a time decrease for a multiple sample analysis. | | Patent Status | | | Public References | | | Key Words | Chemistry and Chemical Analysis, Chemistry and Chemical Analysis /Instrumentation |
