Marketing Content Writing Intern

Essential Functions

  • Ability to interview and write reports/news articles/blogs/social media content, AP style preferred.
  • Assist with production of news releases and associated materials; support media-related photo and video requirements.
  • Conduct external market research to identify industry needs.
  • Assist in special projects including blog or news stories or video production.
  • Classify and organize content using defined criteria.
  • Document media placements.
  • Ability to process and protect confidential information. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Social media experience preferred.
  • Possess interpersonal relations and customer management skills.
  • Some experience in web development and social media.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and InDesign.
  • Experience working with multiple media.
  • Interest and/or knowledge of business development, technology transfer, economic development, real estate, and/or intellectual property management.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and use discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.  Team-oriented. 

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be at least a junior pursuing a degree in Marketing/Communications, Journalism, or a related field

The hourly rate for this position is $14.00/hour.

A criminal conviction check and negative controlled substance test are required for employment in this position.
