START DATE: Immediate Availability 

Essential Functions:

  • Teach and facilitate FireStarter Ideation workshops with inventors, researchers, faculty and students.
  • Teach and facilitate Market Validation workshops with inventors, researchers, faculty and students.
  • Lead entrepreneurial programs supplemental to FireStarter and Market Validation.
  • Identify and manage entrepreneurial resources available in Purdue community
  • Provide support and assistance to the Managing Director-Purdue Foundry as needed.

 Additional Responsibilities:

 Purdue Foundry Training

  • Lead all Foundry efforts related to entrepreneurship training, workshops, boot camps and seminars.
  • Recruit speakers and sponsors for training programs that are not self-performed.
  • Develop various awareness tools for training programs including the Foundry website, social media and traditional media.

Purdue Foundry Ideation and Market Validation

  • Facilitate and lead sessions for inventors, faculty members and students.
  • Assist participants in the development of an initial slide deck for presentation and pitch opportunities.
  • Develop and manage networking, seminar and workshop sessions.

Entrepreneurial Resources

  • Identify new resources and support for Purdue Foundry clients.
  • Develop database of services for clients available in Purdue community.
  • Manage service provider office hours.
  • Track and report use of these resources.

Administrative Support

  • Conduct client market analyses and prepare formal reports.
  • Prepare monthly and ad-hoc reports related to client progress and activities.
  • Obtain and maintain appropriate certificates.
  • Provide support and assistance to Foundry clients as needed.
  • Provide support to the CRM process including tracking campaigns, clients, leads and activities.
  • Provide support to the Foundry team as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent teaching and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook preferred.
  • Ability to use good judgment, diplomacy, maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion on various operational matters.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Must be a motivated, adaptable team player with the ability to exercise initiative and work well with others.

 Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Three to five years of office or entrepreneurial experience required.
