Essential Functions

  • Assist and lead development projects within the entire Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) real estate portfolio, including the Discovery Park District (DPD), Aerospace District (AD) and Purdue Research Park West Lafayette (PRPWL).
  • Work collaboratively with PRF’s Real Estate, Economic Development Office (EDO), and Strategic Alliance teams to ensure success of projects and developments.
  • Work in cooperation with PRF’s Real Estate and EDO teams to oversee and implement the strategic plan for DPD, PRPWL, PRF Facilities and Real Estate.
  • Work collaboratively to create/review cash flow modeling (ProForma) and oversee pre-development and development services within PRF and Third-Party development partners.
  • Perform overall project management,  including but not limited to overseeing planning, design, and construction projects within the PRF portfolio (including tenant buildouts).

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Review and approve payment of vendor/contract invoices, maintain vendor files, and vendor certificates of insurance.
  • Contact appropriate contractors for bids, coordination of work, invoicing, certificate of insurance, inspection, and payment.
  • Serve as an owner’s representative for the Purdue Research Foundation as it relates to the development of the entire PRF portfolio.
  • Coordinate and manage PRF build-outs as needed (including tenant builds), including tenant and contractor contact and follow-up regarding projects.
  • Oversee the planning and development, design, construction, and warranty of development projects across entire PRF portfolio.
  • Ensure accountability for and review of project scope, schedule, and budgets.
  • Clearly document with PRF team and stakeholders as necessary to ensure proper communication, collaboration, and coordination.
  • Oversee management of project documentation and PRF archives; manage CAD drawings and as built data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage and direct professional consultants, contractors, and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
  • Must possess initiative, creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work closely with academic and business communities, senior business leaders, board members, professional service providers, community leaders, and University officials.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience working with MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Produce renderings and other graphics for publication and presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal (public speaking and presentations) communication skills.
  • Frequent travel to other markets as needed to assist with projects.
  • Ability to understand overall development (ProForma and budget modeling), planning, design, and construction.
  • Regular and reliable attendance are requirements of this position.

 Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, land planning or construction management is required.
  • Registered Architect/Landscape Architect, Professional Engineer, or approved equal strongly preferred.
  • Document a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Real Estate and Development, including architectural or engineering experience.
