Essential Functions

  • Responsible for providing quality systems resources through the efficient use of hardware, software and troubleshooting skills (including but is not limited to the security, availability and performance of the systems).
  • Maximize server availability through the effective, efficient monitoring and maintenance of all server hardware, server operating systems and services.
  • Plan, implement, and enforce all server security policies for protecting data and shared network resources including folders, files and printers.
  • Manage and maintain all server Enterprise applications, including SQL, Terminal Services, File and Print Sharing, Apache, MySQL, Linux email services, and BIND.
  • Configure and maintain Active Directory and Group policies for all Windows based Server platforms.
  • Manage and maintain a Nutanix virtualized and SAN environment.
  • Provide excellent business continuity through managing and maintaining a server backup system and disaster recovery site.
  • Build, manage, and monitor Microsoft Azure-based servers and services. 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate and make recommendation regarding new server- based technology to improve or enhance system performance and security.
  • Implement all approved new server- based technologies.
  • Create programming scripts to automate processes when possible.
  • Detect, locate and analyze problems within the network, quickly resolving them.
  • Monitor the performance of IT resources, including servers, desktops and printers.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field preferred; a combination of relevant experience and education may substitute for a degree.
  • Three to five years of experience in a combination of the following required: system administrator experience in a LAN networking/distributed computing environment; recent experience supporting MS Windows environment; and experience installing and configuring Windows 2012 or newer; Nutanix administration.
  • Active Directory, vendor certifications and SQL server experience preferred.
  • MCSA or equivalent experience required.
