The Production Operator is capable of contributing to all phases of the production process. Included is the operation of automated production equipment, preliminary diagnosis/identification of equipment issues, aiding with preventive maintenance and sanitation of the equipment. Operators are expected to be competent to make production decisions concerning the pre-flight and operation of equipment. Operators must be flexible to rotate job assignments throughout production.

Primary activities include but not limited to:

  • Ensure that machinery is running properly
  • Maintain Quality Standards
  • Comply with GMP’s
  • Avoid stopping the line
  • Input required information into the ERP system
  • Report mechanical problems to your Supervisor and Maintenance
  • Work safely
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of machinery in assigned work area
  • Keep work are clean and without debris
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience

  • High School or GED
  • Two years related food production experience, preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Strong knowledge of basic math skills
  • Capable of working on a computer and navigating through multiple screens
  • Experience operating PLC controlled equipment is desired
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand a minimum of eight hours to a maximum of twelve hours on a daily basis


Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 

Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, with the typical hours of work being 40 hours per week, 2nd shift. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
