The Senior Research Scientist (SRS) is an integral part of the Curia team, contributing to our success by focusing on analytical and preparative chromatography, analytical characterization of biomolecules, and other challenging projects.

In this role, you will: 

  • Independently lead projects using skills in analytical techniques such as liquid chromatography, UV-Vis, CE, MALS, AAA, CD, IR, Raman, MS and GPC.
  • Develop, validate, and write analytical methods and operating procedures based on client requirements specifically related to the characterization of small molecules and biomolecules by chromatographic techniques.
  • Perform expert analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Prepare well-written scientific reports.
  • Provide project oversight and regularly communicate with clients.
  • Conduct regular performance qualifications and preventive maintenance for instruments and equipment.
  • Participate in troubleshooting of analytical test methods and laboratory instruments.
  • Utilize appropriate GMP procedures as required by SOPs for conducting experiments, archiving data, and documenting results.
  • Comply with all cGMP and safety requirements based on Curia policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with good housekeeping and safety practices. 

Required: 

  • MS. or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry/Biochemistry or a related field.
  • Exceptional scientific expertise with chromatography of small molecule drugs, and analytical characterization of biomolecules (proteins, peptides and oligonucleotides).
  • 8 or more years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Excellent communication skills, a high level of independence, and the ability to lead and manage multiple projects.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and instrumental and experimental troubleshooting capabilities. 

Preferred:

  • Expertise with instruments and equipment for Mass Spectrometry, AAA, HPLC, UPLC, GPC, MALS, DLS, Zetasizer, CE, CD UV-Vis, etc.
  • Experience implementing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot a wide range of experimental protocols.
