Job Summary:

Assumes responsibility for all operations in West Lafayette Detection Facility. The Site Director will need to understand and assume leadership role for all projects and assignments at this facility.  They will coordinate with the leader of each functional unit at the site and across Detection to make sure projects and tasks are on track for successful completion.  They will review the financials of the location to assure that programs, products and projects are profitable and that the sites return on investment continues to meet expectations to allow the site and Detection to exceed their operating plan, both quarterly and yearly. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads the team at the site having oversight of engineering and operations
  • Interacts with each specific unit leader across Detection Division to make sure we have the correct people and resources to assure success.
  • Sits on the Detection Leadership Team to both give feedback on the site and to stay connected to the overall progress of the Detection Division.
  • Builds site specific budgets and projections to allow Detection to build an overall realistic business plan for the year.
  • Monitors and maintains that business plan to drive Detection toward meeting its financial goals quarterly and yearly.
  • Keeps line specific managers informed of individual performance and helps develop local individuals and teams to guide success.


Solid knowledge and continuous learning of the following required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ management experience in analytical instrumentation or CBRNE industry (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive)
  • Strong overall business acumen with budget experience a plus in a 25 to 50 million dollar operation
  • Working knowledge of site-specific technologies and skill sets needed to execute them
  • Strong organizational, planning and execution skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible and multiplex by quickly adapting to changing requirements and special assignments and workload prioritization
  • Excellent oral/written/listening communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Collaboration & teamwork: Ability to effectively influence people outside of your reporting channel
  • Strong computer application skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.


  • Masters in Business Administration
  • Understanding of the industry and where it could be headed
