About the role…

Manage all aspects of the seed business systems and practices within Inari. Analyze and map interrelated processes and systems, and identify critical control points for the management of seed resources. Develop processes and protocols to improve accuracy, quality, and efficiency of the seed business while lowering risk. Manage audits to measure adoption of best practices in the business, and efficacy of the current way of working.

As Seed Resource Manager, you will…

  • Map critical seed business processes related to seed resource management and distribution of high quality seed for breeding, field trials, seed increases and research samples including the use of RASCI charts for all critical business processes.
  • Examples of critical business processes include:
  • Ensuring that seed (germplasm) within the business and breeding programs: are appropriately documented in information management tools to ensure traceability, meet acceptable identity and quality standards, viable, and seed viability testing is validated, efficiently and appropriately stored with inventory management and control
  • Basic seed testing (e.g. genetic marking, genome sequencing, disease testing)
  • Freedom to operate issues are identified, understood and managed according to Inari Policies and Procedures
  • Seed shipping and receiving compliant with Inari policies and federal, state and local laws
  • Develop accurate and easy-to-follow work instructions for critical business processes, and train others on how to implement
  • Develop standard operating procedures to accurately capture and communicate the best practices for steps in a process or system
  • Teach and train others how to use online job-related tools
  • Manage and ensure compliance related to the breeding and other information systems requirements, rules and guidelines as they are developed and implemented.
  • Conduct audits regarding critical business processes and related work instructions, and compliance with system requirements, rules, and guidelines.
  • Lead small-group operational meetings to identify problems and solve issues

 Sucessful candidates bring…

  • Ph.D or MS Degree with 3 to 5 years’ work experience in Plant Breeding or Related Field
  • Relevant Seed Industry experience
  • A high degree of self-motivation and organizational skills, with a process driven mindset.
