Job Description:

MorphImmune is seeking experienced part-time candidates for the position of laboratory technician in our medicinal chemistry lab. As a Laboratory Technician, you will join a cross-functional research team with aim to develop targeted therapeutic drugs with oncology applications. The opportunity to interact with colleagues in biology and analytical disciplines will offer new avenues for muti-discipline development.

As an experienced laboratory technician, you will be working closely with your scientific mentor but also expected to conduct organic synthesis reactions, purifications and chemical analysis with minimum guidance. Eligible university students are encouraged to apply.



  • Responsible for conducting multi-step synthetic sequences of key target molecules
  • Purifying the crude materials using appropriate purification techniques, automated combi flash chromatography, manual reverse phase purifications and prepHPLC purifications, to isolate materials with high purity
  • Use appropriate quality control methods for analyzing the samples to determine purity and confirm structure
  • Accurately record experimental designs, protocols, key observations and data using Laboratory Notebooks
  • Assist with chemical orders, cleaning lab and glassware, and managing chemical inventory
  • Participate in and present results in team meetings
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills


  • Has completed or is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Organic chemistry including some synthetic chemistry research experience
  • Experience working on multi-step synthetic organic chemistry
  • Familiarity with modern chromatographic techniques, including flash chromatography, automated Combi flash purifications and prepHPLC purifications
  • Familiarity with modern analytical techniques, including LCMS, NMR and HPLC
  • Familiarity with ChemDraw and literature searching software
  • Strong desire to work in multi-disciplinary teams and desire to learn new skills

Physical Demands:

  • Standing for long periods of time

Hours and pay:

  • Part time: up to 20 hours per week
  • Pay: $18-20 per hour commensurate with experience
