Operations Coordinator, College of Engineering

Essential Functions

  • Provide direct assistance to the Associate Vice Presidents for Development (2) responsible for the College of Engineering through daily support and project management.
  • Develop and maintain liaison relationship with leadership and staff of the College of Engineering and throughout PFLF including fundraising, events, administrative support, donor relations, broad-based campaigns, prospect development, alumni relations/engagement, and IT.  

Additional Responsibilities

  • Initiate requests and gather data, analyze information, and supervise compilation of data in support of the entire Engineering development team, including AVPs. 
  • Request donor prospect research and prospect management reports for strategy sessions, team meetings, pipeline discussions, briefing materials, and other uses.
  • Create, edit, and maintain PowerPoint presentations.
  • Coordinate agendas for College of Engineering team meetings, oversee development of supporting materials, and track follow-up actions.
  • Delegate assignments to development team members as needed to complete activity/appointment.
  • Travel to stakeholder events with the Dean of Engineering and/or AVPs to support College advancement activities.
  • Monitor and track multiple timelines.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite required.
  • Proficiency with the CRM (Salesforce) is necessary for success in the role.
  • Ability to use good judgment, diplomacy, maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion on various operational matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • High level of skill in composition, grammatical editing and proofreading are required.
  • Must be a motivated, adaptable team player with the ability to exercise initiative and to work well with others.
  • Must be able to represent the University and Purdue for Life Foundation with tact and diplomacy.  
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects necessary.
  • Must have strong problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance are requirements of this position. 


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of high level administrative experience required.
  • Experience working with a sophisticated constituent relationship management system strongly preferred.
