Essential Functions:

  • Utilize Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Journey Builder and Automation Studio to build single-channel communications and automated campaign series, primarily utilizing email, but also SMS, mobile push notifications and paid digital.
  • Play a leading role in building out the strategy within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and aid in transition from legacy marketing communication systems.
  • Ensure University maximizes efficiency and capitalizes on the full features and benefits of Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform.
  • Assist Purdue for Life Foundation in its effort to provide more personalized/automated constituent experiences across digital and offline channels and all constituent personas.
  • Provide expertise in marketing automation processes and campaign management.
  • Manage day-to-day development of scalable contact builder attribute groups, strategic data extracts, dynamic emails via contact builder and event based journeys via journey builder.
  • Create, document, and manage journey maps across the entire constituent lifecycle.
  • Build Marketing Cloud journeys, following design and process guidance from University partners.
  • Analyze data from analytics and assist in implementation improvements to Marketing Cloud performance and deliverability.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage programs and measure return on investment.
  • Identify areas of improvement and make actionable recommendations to increase operational efficiencies and internal user adoption.
  • Support development and execution of marketing, general communication efforts that leverage the various “Studios” within Marketing Cloud.
  • Develop documentation of current processes and future enhancements.
  • Provide training to internal staff when appropriate.
  • Assist in development of responsive, best-in-class email templates.
  • Compose and/or edit correspondence.
  • Develop content for emails, website, and social media communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Previous experience with Salesforce, Salesforce communities, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Exhibit strong understanding and ability to integrate and execute best practices in content marketing, donor/consumer acquisition, as well as new and emerging marketing techniques.
  • Skilled in lifecycle marketing and customer experience mapping.
  • Comfortable working in a complex, multi-divisional, results-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated success in project management when overseeing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to establish priorities, set objectives, achieve goals and manage to project and departmental budgets.
  • Experience in overseeing digital and print marketing.
  • Ability to thrive in high-energy environments that often have short deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive consensus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
  • Strong desire to succeed and excellent work ethic.
  • Regular and reliable attendance are requirements of this position.


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in email marketing, content creation, consumer marketing, or advertising required.
