Application Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Application Administrator is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the core banking system.  This includes creating, maintaining, automating, and testing scripts and jobs within the core banking system in order to provide security, gain efficiency, and/or meet business needs.  This position also requires timely and thorough troubleshooting and documentation.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Scripts and Jobs
  • Update and improve existing scripts and jobs (e.g., processes)
  • Eliminate and/or or automate inefficiencies in the system where possible
  • Develop new scripts and jobs to meet business needs
  • Document and test all code
  • System MaintenancePerform software updates including:
  • Install and configure both patches and major releases to environments
  • Validate installation
  • Coordinate training for affected departments
  • Execute the month end process
  • Actively maintain security measures on all systems
  • Includes occasional non‐traditional hours when necessary
  • Manage Production Schedule and Monitor the Core
  • Respond to system errors and downtime

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Business Systems Administration or other related field
  • 1 to 3 years of application administration or relevant experience is preferred
  • Have basic command line skills and be able to navigate in and modify files in a UNIX and Windows environments
  • Experienced with relational databases
  • Functions independently in order to accomplish assigned projects while meeting established timelines
  • Troubleshoot, test, and maintain a production environment
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, vendors and company contacts
  • Ability to follow the core values of honesty, integrity, mutual respect, pride and ownership

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This job operates in a clerical office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets
  • This position requires sitting, bending, stooping or standing as necessary
