Business Analyst

The Business Analyst is responsible for collaborating with business users to plan, design, and launch efficient business and operational systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes the gathering and analysis of information and/or data in support of business cases as well as proposing system requirements. The business analyst is also responsible for supporting both new and existing business applications. This individual must apply proven communication, analytical and problem solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

  • Meet with decision makers, business owners and end users to define business requirements, identify, and resolve systems issues based on business needs.
  • Collaborate with business users and other development group resources in the planning, design, development and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Assist in prioritizing requirements based on business benefit/impact and cost.
  • Responsible for identifying requirement and scope related issues and risk.
  • Act as the liaison between business/user group representatives and system development personnel during development efforts.
  • Assist with testing as needed
  • Display a professional attitude in dealing with supervisors, coworkers, members, and others inside and outside the credit union.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in business analysis and documentation
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, vendors and company contacts
  • Ability to follow the core values of honesty, integrity, mutual respect, pride and ownership
  • Ability to capture and document business requirements
  • Ability to document and as needed assist in executing test cases in order to verify system functionality
  • Ability to make recommendations to management on project related actions
  • Ability to communicate at all levels throughout the company
  • Ability to coordinate interaction within business units to assist in defining, understanding and achieving the goals related to the project


  • This job operates in a clerical office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets
  • This position requires sitting, bending, stooping or standing as necessary
