IT Infrastructure Manager

Position Summary:

The IT Manager - Infrastructure  is responsible for the Server, Storage, Network, Security, and End User Infrastructure.  Planning, implementation, upgrades, and ongoing operation.  Accountability includes managing staff, providing overall architectural direction, providing effective computing environments for staff, and managing vendors to maintain a high level of application and system availability and overall network and data security. Stay abreast of the latest developments in technology while striving for enhanced user productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Project Management
    • Determine the goals of IT within broad outlines provided by the executive management and contribute to the continuity of computer services by providing necessary technical leadership and project coordination.
  • Staff Management
    • Manage staff
    • Develop IT career goals with staff
    • Assign and assist with projects that encourage staff to learn new skills while striving to maintain high levels of security and stability
  • Professional Development
    • Stay abreast of current developments in technology, especially with those concerning financial institutions and credit union industry
  • Infrastructure Management
    • Manage data centers, servers, storage, network infrastructure, systems, user devices, third party interfaces, and ongoing maintenance / upgrades
    • Oversee product evaluations, recommendations, architecture, and implementation
    • Manage internal and external relationships with credit union business owners and vendors
    • Manage server and desktop configuration management tools to ensure consistency, compliance with standards, vulnerability, and patch management guidelines.
  •  Information Security Management
    • Work with Information Security Officer, Audit & Compliance Team to enforce company policies and procedures as a member of management for all employees.
    • Implement best practices for security, maintaining a balance between security and usability.
    • Manage internal and external relationships with credit union business owners and vendors.
    • Work jointly with Security Officer IT to be a liaison for audits, manage and monitor compliance of systems.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area of study and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum eight (8)  years of technical experience in information technology required
  • Experience in highly available systems design, network architecture, security fundamentals required
  • Proven management experience in progressively responsible leadership roles required
  • Experience with enterprise level project management and prioritization required
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Competent computer skills
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, vendors and company contacts
  • Ability to follow the core values of honesty, integrity, mutual respect, pride and ownership

  • This job operates in a clerical office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets
  • This position requires sitting, bending, stooping or standing as necessary
