Essential Functions

The Director of Educational Partnerships will focus on the growth of online education across the Purdue System and will be responsible for building external partnerships for Purdue Global and Purdue Online that lead to new enrollments and revenue. The Director will act as a gateway to position Purdue’s brand as a leading online education provider of credentials that advance career readiness. The Director will build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Purdue System and will identify and grow relationships with corporate and governmental entities needing specific workforce upskilling. 

  • Sell existing Purdue product/portfolio to new industry partners, expand sales with current partnerships, including those developed by third parties. Build out a proposal pipeline of partnership opportunities that lead to growth in enrollments and revenue for Purdue Global and Purdue Online.
  • Develop knowledge base of products to support the sales process and understand the education market for each program, find new companies within each market, find new markets for current programs.
  • Identify new products in response to customer workforce upskilling needs, identify business objectives, the program details, and define the sales strategy for the new product.
  • Develop relationships with Purdue colleagues to enable collaboration on qualifying opportunities that grow and complement college offerings.
  • Regularly engage with customers and key business stakeholders and utilize relationships to identify, synthesize, and clearly communicate strategies that enable new revenue-generating opportunities for Purdue.
  • Architect fast track initiatives, in partnership with internal (PO and PG) teams that have a direct impact on growing enrollments and revenue.
  • Manage the partnership agreements, structure deal terms, negotiate, implement, and run deals with existing and new partners.
  • Visualize needed marketing collateral and work with marketing departments to create it.
  • Metrics will be defined and tracked by enrollments and revenue growth and the position is structured to enable contribution within first year. 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Prepare corporate relationship summaries and assist with strategy documents.
  • Remain current in educational industry trends including technology trends, competitive intelligence and key influencers.
  • Virtual and Face-to-Face representation at a variety of engagements, including conferences, job fairs, and customer meetings. 


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct sales experience.
  • Experience in account management and/or project operations a plus.
  • Experience in the area of online education is preferred.
  • Experience working in higher education preferred. 
  • MBA/Master’s preferred. 


  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as prospective clients, outside vendors, and members of educational institutions and industry organizations.  
  • The ability to represent the University with tact and diplomacy are essential.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Hybrid with some travel and weekend duties required. Virtual will be considered.
  • Self-starter, motivator.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills. Ability to balance realistic expectations with realistic drive for expansion.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member with diverse groups of people required.
  • Personal computer and related software skills, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database, data query, internet, Google Suite and Microsoft applications etc., necessary.
  • Salesforce CRM experience is valued.
  • Ability to draw sound conclusions when analyzing complex, technical information desired.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality of detailed work while meeting competing and inflexible deadlines.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion.
