Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and modify software that runs robot
  • Develop and modify software that operator uses to launch & monitor robot
  • Investigate alternatives, then execute on best path

Some examples include:

  • Implementing Machine Vision for obstacle detection and terrain navigation
  • Create new UI so operator can launch robot to replace current
  • Implementing UI that functions over WiFi or Internet so operator can monitor robot remotely
  • Develop better path following techniques

Goals

Make the SmartCore robot more efficient, more effective, safer and easier to use

Requirements/Qualifiacations:

  • Experience: Building and programming robots, Implementing Real Projects (ideally combining physical & software components)
  • Coding Experience:  Python, ROS (Robotic Operating System), Linux OS, Moderate UI Experience, AWS Lambda (Bonus)
  • Mindset: Humble to learn and learn broadly, Hungry for results and willing to Dig In
