Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician - Intern

Job Description: 

Specific job responsibilities may include: 
•    Work in a team or autonomously to complete work orders and provide maintenance support in a 
        climate controlled manufacturing environment.
•    Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment, disassembling and reassembling of machinery.
•    Interpret mechanical / electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
•    Adhere to plant safety and sanitation requirements; Complete assigned work efficiently and per 
        Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
•    Contribute to an effective work planning process that utilizes work order, planners, and part 
•    Assist with process improvement and initiate change.
•    Analyze knowledge & process data and make decisions on equipment maintenance and 
        improvement activities.
•    Contribute to an effective preventive maintenance system (e.g. manufacturing equipment, 
        electrical system, HVAC, pneumatic system, security system, building).
•    Work in a team environment with Engineering department for equipment installation, layout 
        changes & installations per manufacturing needs.
•    Maintain a safe environment outside during winter season.
•    Maintain a clean and safe working environment inside the plant.
•    All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is required (e.g. lock out / tag out, confined space entry, OSHA, NEMA).
  • Strong electrical background (tracing circuits, running conduit, establishing new circuits, installing  grid work according to NEMA and OSHA standards).
  • Computer skills required; Microsoft Office (Excel) proficiency as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds.
  • Must be able to continuously stand, bend, and twist. Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates.
  • Ability to drive a fork truck or obtain an in house license.
