We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to add to our team. Our accounting work has grown significantly and has the ability to grow substantially more by adding another team member. A Senior Accountant in this position would be working mainly with clients who need a high level, experienced accountant to assist them with maintaining compliance with GAAP principles and other government regulations. We imagine someone who has experience in auditing but looking to work more on the accounting end of things instead, would be a perfect fit for this job.

Job Requirements:

  • At minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of accounting or auditing
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • In depth knowledge of GAAP along with a year of experience in preparing or auditing GAAP
    financial statements.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online preferred.
  • Maintain the reputation and personality of our firm by remaining positive and encouraging with
    the ability to be professional and confident, while having the ability to make things simpler for
    clients to understand what matters most to them.

Job Description:

  • Data Entry or Review of Data Entry and Reconciling of all bank and credit card accounts.
  • Reconciling and verifying all other balance sheet accounts.
  • Preparing accurate GAAP and Accrual Financial Statements on a monthly or quarterly basis,
    depending on client.
  • Assessing internal controls, and review risk areas and recommendations with clients to
    document business processes and accounting policies.
  • Performing monthly budget variance analyses and reviewing with clients.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules and depreciation records.
  • Performing proper allocations for G&A and Overhead costs to the proper projects monthly.
  • Preparing Labor Distribution schedules and proper allocations to customers/projects.
  • Review Audit Risks and make recommendations to clients.
  • Assist with audit preparations and CAP reviews and assist through the processes.
  • Prepare year-end financials statements that are ready for tax return data entry for managed
    clients and for other monthly clients maintained by other co-workers.
  • Ability to be able to review accounting work done by other staff members and make necessary
    adjustments and provide feedback to co-workers.
  • Ability to be able to review accounting work done by clients and make necessary notes and
    feedback to clients to help them improve their work.
  • Support CPA and other staff members as needed with various tasks, especially through tax
    season.
