DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive stewardship plan for all donors to the School of ECE, with a particular emphasis on individualized strategies for major donors.
  • Manage, develop strategy for, and encourage the growth of the ECE Corporate Partners Program.
  • Serve as the point person for ECE events, working closely with the Administrative Assistant, to execute meaningful and effective special events which support   the mission and goals of the ECE development office.

Additional Responsibilities

Development & Donor/Alumni Relations

  • Coordinate and implement annual giving strategy for ECE.
  • Represent the ECE 400/694 visiting alumni speaker series by booking and confirming speakers, greeting visitors and hosting them while on campus, and coordinating with pertinent faculty.
  • Respond to donor inquiries with accurate, courteous, and timely information to reinforce positive relations with ECE and with the University.
  • Work closely with the University Development Office (UDO) Stewardship Office to ensure donors are properly acknowledged.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Development and two Directors of Development on special projects as needed.

Scholarship/Fellowship

  • Coordinate all award, scholarship and fellowship award processes, donor stewardship, and recognition events for the School by working with the advisors in the Undergraduate and Graduate academic programs, the Division of Financial Aid and the ECE business office.
  • Serve, as required, on departmental, college, or university committees pertaining to student scholarship/fellowship support.

Student and Corporate Engagement

  • Interface with all corporate recruiting contacts and arrange visits, communication and engagement opportunities.
  • Serve as a resource for students seeking industrial work experience in coordination with the Undergraduate and Graduate Offices.
  • Work with Development office to steward, cultivate and guide these relationships.

Event Planning

  • With the support of the Administrative Assistant, manage the department event calendar, including but not limited to awards banquets, School's advisory board and corporate partners workshop and Boilermaker Circuit, donor cultivation and stewardship, dedications, receptions and dinners, and University-wide campaign events.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Possess an understanding of marketing and public relations concepts. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact equally well with alumni, students, and people from academia and industry. 
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible to change, good team player, and capable of working independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, flexible to change, and able to work with many areas of the school and campus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of student scholarship and fellowship process preferred.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of relevant experience and education may substitute for a degree.
  • One year of professional experience in university student services, marketing, and/or event planning.
  • Experience with internship and/or co-op programs preferred.
