JOB DESCRIPTION: Spun out of Purdue University’s top-ranked Lyles School of Civil Engineering, Wavelogix has developed an IoT sensing & data analytics platform for infrastructure monitoring & management. We are committed to digitizing the construction industry to improve access to accurate data and to simplify the workflows of construction contractors and engineers. We are seeking to hire an embedded system engineer who will be responsible for creatively designing, prototyping and testing quality hardware and firmware of embedded applications for data acquisition & processing as well as implementing protocols for wireless transmission.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Building commercial quality embedded systems including both hardware and firmware
  • Designing & implementing creative algorithms for embedded devices & systems for concrete sensing
  • Designing, developing, coding, testing & debugging microcontrollers, microprocessors & system software
  • Analyzing & enhancing efficiency, stability & scalability of embedded systems
  • Development & incorporation of new features in embedded systems based on customer inputs
  • Collaborate with other engineers & colleagues (electrical, computer, civil, materials science, construction,
    etc.) to build a complete, scalable & user-friendly system
  • Engaging in product development from inception to manufacturing & troubleshooting
  • Ability to think creatively to offer innovative solutions for our business needs
  • Field testing of systems, including travel to construction sites

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
  • 1+ years work experience as embedded systems or firmware engineer or similar position
  • Solid software & programming experience in embedded system development
  • Experience with PCB design, testing, & troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with integrated circuits datasheets & components & applying features of microcontrollers &
    microprocessors to solve specific problems
  • Experience with Embedded C or C++ required
  • Experience with Python and CMake preferred
  • Experience with software such as MATLAB, Keil, Altium Designer or equivalents
  • Familiarity with wireless communication protocols & ability to implement in embedded systems
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills required
  • Critical thinking & problem-solving skills required
  • Good time-management skills & ability to multi-task required
  • Ability to travel & work independently required
